Located on the North Oregon Coast, Creative Beginnings is the creation of Nancy Hornshuh, owner and proprietor. Nancy started Creative Beginnings in Gearhart, Oregon, a town just north of the present location, in 1994. Her idea was to create a place where one could be inspired, get assistance, share ideas, and find encouragement and products to produce wonderful creative imaginings.
After a few years and the addition of many fine products the Gearhart store became too small for all that Nancy had imagined. The move to Seaside in 2005 made it possible to have open areas where people can work on projects, sit and visit and inspire each other, and choose from a larger inventory.
Visit our store in Seaside Oregon for a great selection of yarn, beautiful glass and semi-precious beads, a nice selection of scrapbook supplies, rubber stamps and fine papers, or sit with our friendly cat and enjoy a cup of excellent Italian espresso.
Don't forget to check with us for art and craft supplies. Mail order available.

Welcome to my page. If you've ever visited Creative Beginnings in person you are sure to remember me. I am the beautiful black cat who welcomed you, or perhaps I jumped on your shoulder if I was feeling very affectionate. I may have only watched you from atop a pile of one of the better yarns, or I may have been lounging on the back of the sofa, letting your husband or children pet my extremely soft fur. If you're reading my page you are obviously one of my many fans. I hope you will check up on me often so you can see what I've been up to.
I'd like to update you on what I'm doing. The girls got some new yarn in and placed one of the older yarns in a basket. They didn't think that I'd be interested because it was one of those deep baskets from Baskets of Cambodia. They are especially good for a clothes hamper or storage for a big knitting project. Anyway, it was so full of yarn that when I checked it out I sunk just below the rim. That way I could still see what was going on and enjoy the comfort of soft yarn. This is really the best place to live.
